Christchurch and District Concert Band

The Christchurch and District Concert Band are a community based, Not for Profit Organisation, promoting the enjoyment of music through learning, performing and audience involvement.

They are the Town Band of Christchurch and were presented a Meritorious Award from Christchurch Borough Council for their services and involvement in the community.  Founded just 7 years ago, our vision is one of musical unity – regardless of race, ability, gender, or financial standing; music should be available to all.

Music is good for the soul and beneficial in many ways: The performance of music creates a bond of friendship which is so important, with many people these days finding themselves alone or lonely; proven to improve hand-eye co-ordination, team spirited, builds confidence, lifts depression, keeps the mind active and gives you an overall feel-good factor. Our band motto is “Music Triumphs over Adversity “and nothing could be more appropriate. The Band are also supporters of the Bournemouth War Memorial Homes and the Not Forgotten Association.

Membership of the Band is open to anybody regardless of age, gender, financial standing or musical ability.  The band will provide a supportive environment to inexperienced players with the aim of enabling them to reach their full potential. The Band will not discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, ethnic origin, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief.

The band meet on a Tuesday evening at the Somerford ARC Community Centre BH23 3EH from 19.15 to 21.45.  If you are interested in joining the band or you would like to organise an event, please contact us.
